KU’s Desktop Conferencing service leverages Adobe Connect to allow KU faculty to host synchronous (live) online meetings from anywhere in the world. All meeting participants need is a standard web browser, Adobe Flash player software, and an Internet connection. Participants can also use a mobile device to connect to a room. A meeting can have from two participants to one hundred attendees with interchangeable roles.

Using Desktop Conferencing, you can conduct online meetings, virtual classes, and group collaboration where you can share a wide range of content, including webcams, microphones, text chat, presentation slides, live screen-sharing, application sharing, audio, video and text chat.

Getting Started

All KU Faculty, Staff and GTAs can create and manage Desktop Conferencing rooms.  Once a room is created, the host can send the URL of the room to anyone they would like to participate, including non-KU users.
